Today’s world sees a lot of hustle, with stress levels of almost every human being soaring high. From working odd hours, to facing sleep disorders, we’ve all got our plate full and could certainly do with a relaxant to sooth those nerves and reduce anxiety. Marijuana is sometimes prescribed to those with high anxiety levels, but not everyone can make do with a drug that gives you a high. That’s when CBD comes into play.
CBD oil is known to have a calming and a soothing effect on us homo-sapiens which is why it is gaining popularity slowly but surely. Quite a commonly used term today, CBD extends as cannabidiol, a substance derived from hemp and marijuana plants that’s used to ease a lot of symptoms apart from anxiety and stress. Pains, inflammation and more symptoms faced due to chronic illnesses can be reduced by consuming CBD on a regular basis. Unlike THC, CBD does not give a person a “high”. Also, different kinds of CBD extractions offer different effects on the human body.
Hemp Derived CBD vs. Marijuana Derived CBD Oil
The molecular structure of CBD in both is similar, but the chemical makeup of the two plants is different which can result in differed results between the two.
Hemp derived products are legal in the U.S. and the plant is used to make a lot of other things apart from CBD. Organic lip-balms, clothes and even more are made using hemp. The CBD that’s extracted from this plant contains less than 0.3% CBD depending on whether it’s a CBD isolate, a broad spectrum CBD oil or a full-spectrum one.
Marijuana derived CBD contains higher levels of THC which is why they may make one feel a little “high” and the trade of this kind of CBD is mostly illegal. They may be sold in a few medical marijuana states that allow the use though.
Types of CBD Extractions
Full Spectrum: Full spectrum CBD oils contain all the other cannabinoids of the hemp plant along with CBD. They may include CBG (cannabigerol), CBN (cannabinol) and THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) along with CBD (cannabidiol). This kind of CBD oil gives the effect of the other cannabinoids present in it as well, though it still doesn’t give a high due to the low THC levels in it.
Broad Spectrum: This kind of CBD extract contains every cannabinoid of the hemp plant excluding THC. This kind of CBD oil is advised to those who do not want any traces of THC at all, especially if it’s being used to treat minors.
Isolate: CBD isolate contains only the CBD cannabinoid and nothing else. It is consisted entirely of CBD which is why those who prefer consuming CBD solely usually end up purchasing this type.
Different kinds work differently for different people. Always make sure to do your bit of research about which type may be best suited for you and which kind fits the reason you’re looking at consuming CBD in the first place.
