Can CBD Oil Be Used to Treat Hair Fall

CBD for Hair Growth

In today’s fast moving world, everybody experiences some level of stress. It may be due to conflict with an elder of the family, due to work, or due to a whole other reason. As a matter of fact, today’s generation proves the point that “change is inevitable”, which applies to every aspect of their lives.

The generation gap between their parents, superiors at work and them can cause them to feel stressed out. Of course, the concept of seeking mental help has been increasing and mental health professionals are doing their best to help. But today, not everyone can afford to spend the big bucks that may be required for a bunch of therapy sessions, and many may not have the liberty to take out the time to do so.

Today’s rat race sees a number of victims of stress and anxiety, which in turn could possibly lead to a number of other physical health issues.

One such relatable issue caused by stress could be hair-fall; a problem faced by many. However, just because half or more of the population faces this particular problem, doesn’t justify just letting it go. Doing so would just prove the age old question put forth to us by our parents- “if your friend jumps into the well, does that mean that you will too?”, suggesting that if a person close to us makes a wrong decision in life, it doesn’t mean that we should follow. This applies to situations like these, in which if the world doesn’t want to do much about their hair loss problems, it doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t bother about it either.

A dermatologist may suggest patients to treat the problem related to hair fall in many ways, which may help their patients to some extent. However, the underlying cause of it -stress- is not only a sensitive, but a hard area to be able to dig deep into.

So, let’s have a look at how we can reduce hair fall, by reducing our levels of stress.

Hair fall caused by stress could be due to three different reasons/ situations:

  • Telogen effluvium: In this situation, a fairly huge amount of stress could cause a large number of hair follicles to face a resting phase. This may result in hair fall while washing or brushing your hair, a few months later.
  • Trichotillomania: The irresistible urge to pull out hair from different parts of your body including your scalp, eyelashes, eyebrows etc. is caused due to trichotillomania. It could be referred to as a habit of dealing with uncomfortable or annoying situations.
  • Alopecia areata: A number of reasons could be the result of this, including high levels of stress. In this situation, the body’s immune system attacks the hair follicles, thus resulting in weakened hair strands and ultimately hair fall.

In each of these scenarios, stress is clearly the root cause of the problem. But how does one deal with this by eliminating the problem from the root itself? And no, I’m not referring to pulling out your hair from its roots.
