Does CBD Help with Neurological and Heart-Related Diseases?

CBD for Neurological and Heart Disorders

According to the American Heart Association, nearly half i.e. 48 percent of Americans have some kind of cardiovascular disease.

It is also known that roughly 1 in 6 people suffer from neurological disorders such as Parkinson and Alzheimer among others.

With such high numbers of people experiencing chronic heart and brain conditions, wouldn’t it be helpful to have a solution that could help ease the symptoms of these unpleasant illnesses?

Let’s see how CBD helps make things easier for people who suffer with these unfortunate medical conditions.

CBD for Heart Health

CBD is known to cure and help with a lot of diseases. However, does it really help those with heart problems? Does it cure heart diseases or does it ease symptoms? Is using CBD the answer to all heart-related diseases? Can one skip undergoing an expensive treatment with a doctor just by consuming CBD? Research says that CBD can help reduce hypertension due to its anti-inflammatory properties and more. CBD is also popularly known to reduce stress and anxiety. That means, that it can ease symptoms of hypertension which is a condition wherein high blood pressure damages the walls of your veins and arteries.

High blood pressure can be caused by stress, anxiety, insomnia, type 2 diabetes, excessive consumption of salt and more.

CBD is known to help people relax which is why we can conclude that it helps reduce stress, anxiety and can help people sleep better which can be a cure to insomnia. Due to the same reason, research suggests that it helps reduce high blood pressure as well.

According to a recent study conducted on animals, CBD helps reduce inflammation and cell death associated with heart diseases. That’s because of its stress-reducing properties.

Another study conducted on healthy men showed that 600 mg of CBD helped reduce their resting heart rate.

It is however still advised that you visit your doctor on a regular basis and keep your medical professional informed about your consumption of CBD oil. Also, do a thorough research about the interference of CBD with the other drugs prescribed to you since it can sometimes go downhill. Always listen to your medical professional about whether or not it is safe for you to consume CBD oils along with your medically prescribed medicines.

CBD for Neurological Disorders

Even though there’s no hard core proof about CBD completely curing a neurological disorder, it is known to ease the symptoms of a lot of diseases including brain related ones. A lot of studies however have shown promising results when used to treat diseases like epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.

An oral spray called Sativex, which is a blend of CBD and THC has shown promising results in easing muscle spasticity in people with multiple sclerosis. Another study showed that it helped reduce spasms in 75% people whose bodies were resistant to other medications.

Another study concluded that CBD oil tremendously reduced seizures in children with Dravet syndrome which is an epilepsy disorder in children.

However, in both studies a few people did face side effects including fever, convulsions and fatigue.

It is important to note that even though CBD helps ease symptoms, there is no proof that it completely eradicates these diseases.

Always rely on a medical expert in order to take their advice on whether CBD is a good option for you or not. CBD can interfere with other medications. Sometimes, you may be able to take CBD on days when you don’t take other clinically prescribed drugs.
